Research That Moves

My work explores how belief, environment, and access influence health outcomes — and how data can turn those insights into systems that drive sustainable change.

Ph.D. in Health Education & Promotion

What I’m Studying
I am dedicated to understanding how people’s perceptions of climate change shape their health behaviors. Connecting environmental awareness to public health decision-making could identify where communication, access, and policy can create measurable improvement.

Core InsightsWhy It Matters to NIKE
Perception predicts behavior:
belief in local climate impact increases healthy adaptation practices.
Aligns with NIKE’s global Move to Zero vision—showing how sustainability becomes personal and actionable.
Regional context matters:
the Great Lakes region offers a living model for climate-health engagement.
Informs how companies can connect environmental messages to individual motivation, movement, and well-being.
Communication gaps are solvable: empathetic, evidence-based education builds trust faster than statistics alone.Reinforces that climate literacy is performance literacy—a link between planetary and human health.

PAST ACADEMIC RESEARCH

M.Ed. Thesis

APPLIED RESEARCH IN MOTION

Application

Topic

Impact

Corporate Wellness Metrics

Designed and evaluated programs for multiple companies, translating survey and biometric data into practical initiatives.

Improved participation and measurable wellness outcomes.

Community Food Access

Implemented data systems for Akron Children’s Food Farmacy tracking pantry use and demographics.

Evidence used to secure continued grant funding and optimize distribution.

STEM Education Assessment

Built evaluation frameworks for grant-funded school programs at Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland.

Provided accountability and insight to major funders and civic partners.

What I Do With It
I translate data…and also publish it
Whether teaching undergraduates, leading a workshop for middle schoolers, or speaking on live television, my focus is to make science accessible, relatable, and actionable.

MY APPROACH

“If people can’t feel the science, they won’t move because of it.”

That’s the philosophy behind my teaching, my research, and my drive to connect science to motion.

  • I share NIKE’s vision of a sustainable future driven by innovation.
  • I bring a track record of operational excellence, research rigor, and real-world results.
  • I’m ready to contribute, learn from world-class mentors, and help accelerate NIKE’s progress toward zero.

Let’s Move Forward, Together

I’m ready to bring research that moves — and moves people — to NIKE’s global sustainability mission. I believe in the vision of a sustainable future driven by innovation.

I bring a track record of operational excellence, research rigor, and real-world results.

I want to contribute, learn from world-class mentors, and help accelerate NIKE’s progress toward zero.
